Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Takkaru Mens Wear ("TAKKARU", "we", "us") collects when you use takkaru.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
By creating an account, placing an order or subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to the processing described below. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights").
Who we are
Takkaru Mens Wear is the data fiduciary for the personal data described here.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Your name, email address and mobile number.
- A password, which we store only as a one-way hash. We cannot see it.
When you sign in with Google or Microsoft
- Your name, email address and profile picture, as shared by that provider. We never receive your Google or Microsoft password.
- These providers do not share a mobile number, so we ask for one after you sign in.
When you place an order
- Your shipping address, city, state and PIN code.
- The items, sizes, quantities and amounts in your order, and its delivery status.
- Payment status and a Razorpay payment reference. We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank login. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
- Your email address and when you subscribed.
Automatically, when you use the site
- Your IP address, browser and device type, and the time of each sign-in. We use these to keep your account secure, for example to email you when someone signs in from a new device.
- Your cart, wishlist and an unfinished checkout may be saved in your browser so they are still there when you come back.
We do not use advertising trackers, analytics services or social media pixels.
Why we use it
- To run your account and fulfil your orders: processing payments, shipping, delivery updates and customer support.
- To keep your account secure: verifying your email, password resets, and alerts about new sign-ins, password changes and linked accounts.
- To send our newsletter, only if you subscribed. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records.
- To prevent fraud and abuse of the site.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for any purpose not listed here without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Razorpay: to process your payment.
- Courier and logistics partners: your name, shipping address and mobile number, to deliver your order.
- Resend: our email delivery service, for order, account and newsletter emails.
- Amazon Web Services: hosts our website and database in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region, India.
- Google or Microsoft: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Government or law enforcement: only when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and short-lived cookies that protect sign-in with Google or Microsoft. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.
How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we erase it within 30 days.
- Order and payment records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, currently up to 8 years, even if you delete your account.
- Sign-in sessions: they expire automatically, and resetting your password signs you out everywhere.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of the unsubscribed address only so that we never email it again.
How we protect it
All traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, payment details never reach our servers, and access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the store. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update it. You can edit your name, phone and address yourself on your account page.
- Erase it, by asking us to delete your account.
- Withdraw consent. Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, or ask us to stop processing your data. Withdrawing consent means we may no longer be able to provide your account or orders.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.
To use any of these rights, email takkarumenswearweb@gmail.com from the address on your account.
Children
Our store is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please use the site only with a parent or guardian, who must agree to this policy for you. If we learn we have collected a child's data without that consent, we will delete it.
Grievance Officer
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, contact our Grievance Officer:
We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, and the version on this page is always the current one. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will email you before it takes effect.
